General Services

What services does Center For Resilience provide?

CFR offers a wide range of behavioral health services, including trauma-informed therapy, using evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR, among others. CFR provides neurofeedback and qEEG brain mapping, and specialized programs for youth involved with the juvenile justice system. We also provide various assessment services, including psychosexual evaluations. Finally, we offer clinical supervision for LPC and LMFT licensure in TN and VA, and consulting services for behavioral health organizations of all sizes.

Who can receive services at CFR?
We serve individuals, families, and organizations across Virginia and Tennessee. Many of our clients are referred through the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Children’s/Social Services, or court systems, and we also accept private referrals. We also work with individual clinicians who are pursuing licensure, and offer consulting services to organizations.
Does CFR accept insurance?
No. CFR does not bill insurance directly. Services are offered through contracts, referral partnerships, and private-pay arrangements. This model allows us to provide specialized, individualized care without the limitations of insurance coverage or pre-authorization.
How much do services cost?
Rates vary depending on the type and duration of service. A schedule of fees is available upon request.
How can I make a referral or schedule an appointment?
Referrals can be made by agencies, court personnel, or individuals through our secure online referral form, by contacting our main office, or by emailing info@centerforresilience.net. After reviewing the referral, a CFR clinician will reach out to schedule an initial consultation or evaluation.
Where are CFR services offered?
CFR has multiple locations in Virginia and Tennessee, providing in-person services in select counties. Our team also provides on-site services within state-operated facilities and community-based organizations.
Are telehealth or virtual services available?

Yes. Many of CFR’s therapy, assessment, and other services can be provided through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms, allowing for flexibility and accessibility.

qEEG and Neurofeedback

What is a qEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram)?

A qEEG is a brain-mapping assessment that measures electrical activity in the brain to identify patterns associated with symptoms such as anxiety, depression, impulsivity, trauma, and attention difficulties. It helps clinicians understand how different brain regions are functioning and guides individualized treatment planning.

How does neurofeedback work?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, evidence-based treatment that helps clients train their brains to self-regulate. During sessions, sensors monitor brainwave activity, and the client receives real-time feedback—often through visuals or sounds—when their brain shifts toward healthier patterns. Over time, this can improve focus, mood, sleep, and emotional regulation, among other things.
Who can benefit from neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback can support individuals with ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and substance use disorders. It’s also used to enhance peak performance, executive functioning, and stress resilience in clients without clinical diagnoses.
Is neurofeedback covered by insurance?
CFR’s neurofeedback and qEEG services are private-pay only and are not billed through insurance. A receipt for out-of-network reimbursement may be provided upon request.

Psychosexual Evaluations

What is a psychosexual evaluation?
A psychosexual evaluation is a comprehensive assessment designed to understand a person’s sexual development, behavior, risk and protective factors, and treatment needs. It is commonly requested by courts, probation, or child welfare agencies to help guide decisions about supervision, treatment, and safety planning.
Who conducts the evaluations?
Evaluations are performed by licensed clinicians with advanced training and certification in psychosexual assessment and treatment of sexual behavior problems. All evaluations meet professional and legal standards of practice.
Are evaluation results shared with the client?
Psychosexual evaluation reports are not released directly to the client. They are sent to the referring agency, court, or funding source, in accordance with CFR’s confidentiality and information-sharing policies.
How long does the evaluation process take?
The process typically involves one or two clinical interviews, testing inventories, collateral review and contacts, and report preparation. Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the case and the availability of records but usually ranges from 3–4 weeks once started.
